The orange-brown color of corten steel is formed by a natural rust layer. Another name for corten steel is weather-resistant steel: weather conditions have a positive influence on corten steel.

Corten steel is a metal alloy consisting of iron, to which copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium have been added. When exposed to the outside air, the material is covered with a protective rust layer. This natural rust layer provides protection against further corrosion. As a result, the panels have a long lifespan.

• Products should be unpacked immediately upon receipt so that any moisture between the packaging and the product is not trapped. This can cause irregular rust stains.
• We advise against the use of corten steel within a 2 km radius of a coastline.
• During the rust process, rust water may come off the product.
• The warranty is void if you drill or grind in a manner not prescribed.
• Annual cleaning by rinsing off coarse dirt on the panel with tap water.
